Stage 3 Prove

Broker risk radar

Free during launch

Before you ask a broker for money, or take their next load, look at five signals: how long they have operated, insurance, past revocations, and how they pay you.

Example data Brokers are invented. The "open data" panel below is real FMCSA aggregate data.

Radar

Farther from the centre is riskier on that signal.

All brokers, riskiest first

How the risk number is made

  • Authority age: under 1 year 100, under 2 years 70, under 5 years 35, otherwise 10.
  • Insurance: on file 10, needs a check 60.
  • Revocations: none 0, one in the past 80.
  • Days to pay: 0 at 20 days, plus 5 per day above, up to 100.
  • Short pays: 5 per 100 loads, up to 100.
  • Risk is the average of the five. Under 30 low, 30 to 49 medium, 50 and up high. Demo formula.

REAL OPEN DATA, NOT LIVE

Source: FMCSA Company Census File, data.transportation.gov dataset az4n-8mr2, aggregates only, retrieved 2026-10-09. Self-reported on MCS-150, counts are USDOT records, not distinct companies. The open file tells you who exists, not who pays. Always check a broker live on FMCSA before you rely on this. No broker names are stored here. data.transportation.gov

Authority and bond check, example card Free during launch

This is what a check looks like for the broker picked above. The values belong to an invented broker. The fields and their source are real.

Example data Fields follow the public FMCSA registration records on data.transportation.gov (dataset az4n-8mr2 and the authority history files), example snapshot of 2026-10-09. This demo does no live lookup and stores no broker list. Before you rely on a real broker, check it yourself at FMCSA Licensing and Insurance.

How to read this. Pick a broker. The shape on the radar is its five signals; a big shape means high risk.

Show the details

Authority age, insurance and revocation history would come from FMCSA broker authority records. In this demo they are invented per broker; the card above the notes shows the real national picture from the same FMCSA files. Days to pay and short pays come from your own loads.

High risk does not mean "do not use". It means: ask with a full packet, get the rate con in writing, and watch the payment.

Freshness: retrieved 2026-10-09 12:20 UTC; FMCSA files updated 2026-10-08 (Carrier), 2026-10-08 (Revocation). Sources: data.transportation.gov 6eyk-hxee Carrier, 9mw4-x3tu authority history, sa6p-acbp revocations. Limits: docket counts, not companies. "Below required" compares liability filed with the minimum and includes filing lag, so it is not an uninsured rate. Revocations include dockets later reinstated; the last column removes those active now. Cohorts for 2024 and later are blank until 24 months have passed. A high share does not describe any one broker. Check a broker live on FMCSA.

Step 4 of 15Go

Example data Sample Hauling LLC is an invented company (8 trucks, dry van, 13 weeks). Every load, broker and dollar is example data. Brokers appear as Broker A to F. Panels marked REAL OPEN DATA use dated US government aggregates (FMCSA, EIA, NWS, BTS, state work-zone feeds) and are not live. This demo makes no network calls: nothing you type or choose is sent anywhere.
